The main task of Göteborg & Co, in collaboration with private industry and the public sector, is to aid in the development of Gothenburg as a destination.

Our ownership structure, which brings together private and public stakeholders, provides a unique foundation for collaboration. One excellent example is the company’s Trade & Industry Group. Twenty-five of Gothenburg’s largest companies work together in the group to develop Gothenburg as a destination, which also enhances their own competitiveness in the long term. But this partnership also extends to many other areas that are important to the city. Examples include collaboration with the city’s restaurant association and hotel associations.
Göteborg & Co is also an active partner in a number of key international networks. Here are some of the largest:
European Cities Marketing (ECM)
ECM is the leading network for marketing and co-ordinating the tourism initiatives of European cities. The network links more than 130 metropolitan regions in 30 countries with the aim of promoting tourism in European cities. ECM also provides a valuable foundation for business intelligence and exchanging experience within the tourism industry.
International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA)
ICCA is the principal global network for the convention industry, with members in 86 countries. The network collaborates with over 900 suppliers and enables member cities to develop competitive events.
Délice
Délice is a gastronomic network for discussing and spreading information about gastronomy and good food. The network promotes gastronomic experiences as an element in the development of city tourism. Gothenburg is the only Swedish city in the network.
European Science Events Association (EUSCEA)
EUSCEA is a network for popular science events that aims to highlight partnerships in science communication and increase awareness of research and education initiatives. The Gothenburg International Science Festival is one of the founders of the network, which comprises over 100 member organisations.
GO alliance
A Norwegian-Swedish alliance in which the City of Gothenburg and Region Västra Götaland collaborate with Oslo, Akershus and Östfold to enhance the attraction and competitiveness of the Gothenburg-Oslo region.
