  • Spotify expands with new office in Gothenburg

    9 December, 2011

For a month now about 15 technicians and engineers have been working in Spotify’s new office in Gothenburg city.
    - Gothenburg is a natural choice for us. Spotify has a history but also a future here. Research and development are important to us, as well as having a closeness to the University of Gothenburg. We are very pleased to be able to grow here, says Mario Jelica, office manager at Spotify in Gothenburg.

Spotify is a Swedish-founded multinational company offering an online music streaming service. The company was founded in 2006 by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon (see picture).

    - This indicates that Gothenburg is a good place for creative and knowledge-intensive companies. We look forward to look at possible collaborations, says Henrik Jutbring, director of development at Göteborg & Co.

    His colleague Fredrik Sandsten says:
    - This feels great – the establishment also strengthens the image of Gothenburg as the number one music city in Sweden.
