  • Taiwanese TV-program about future cities focuses Gothenburg

    28 October, 2011

One of Taiwan’s largest private TV-channels visited Gothenburg this week to shoot an episode of the TV show “Meet the Future Cities”. The show focuses on sustainable development, urban planning and design and will be broadcasted in Taiwan and China in November.

The team visited Älvstranden Utveckling, Gothenburg Film Studios, Centrala Älvstaden, GÃ¥rdstensbostäder, Nudie Jeans and many second-hand stores. In addition, they also showed intrest in the project Gothenburg 2021 and the work whith the city’s 400th anniversary.

What can Taiwan learn from the outside world? That’s the main question in the TV show. Mathias Hultgren, project manager at Göteborg & Co, guided the Taiwanese journalists during their stay.

    - Their impression of Gothenburg was very positive. Above all, they were impressed with how the city work with open democratic processes and civil dialogue. They also found the charitable concept that many second hand stores work with unique, says Mathias Hultgren.

Gothenburg’s unique café culture also intrested the journalists as well as the transformation of the port from docklands to a lively area with apartments and Science Park.
