In September the music festival Way Out West in Gothenburg was nominated in MTV O Music Awards. It is now clear that Way Out West has won in the category “Most Innovative Festival”.
Way Out West was the only Scandinavian festival nominated, an underdog in the context of several major classical festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella, iheartradio, iTunes Festival and Pitchfork Festival. Thanks to many dedicated fans Way Out West won and can now call itself “The Most Innovative Festival” in the world.
- This is proof of Way Out West’s international importance, says Henrik Jutbring, development manager at Göteborg & Co, who has been involved in the concept of the festival since the start.
“This encourages us to make 2012 the Best Way Out West so far,” Way Out West writes on their website.
MTV O Music Awards will be held in Los Angeles on October 31st.
