In 2010, Göteborg & Co, Gothenburg Convention Bureau, commissioned a comparison study of the cost of staying overnight at business meetings, congresses and exhibitions in 19 European cities. Results of the study show that Gothenburg is very competitive and below the average index level.
The resulting European MICE-visitor-price-index is a tool to measure the price level for a constant market basket of standard goods and services within the context of meetings, congresses and exhibitions in European city destinations. The calculation of the price index is focusing on the expenditure side of a MICE/business visitor during her/his overnight-stay to MICE related activities in a European city, excluding the fees for conferences and exhibitions.
